News from Fr. James Martin, SJ!

While COVID19 made it necessary to postpone Outreach 2021,
I'm happy to say that later this month we will be releasing a wonderful video presentation from several of our panelists offering their wisdom, insights and experiences, as well as their support for LGBTQ Catholics. Stay Tuned!

Online Masses and Prayer Services

  • Immaculate Heart of Mary (NYC):
    • We have a small Rainbow Ministry group at Immaculate Heart of Mary, and right now the only activities that we have planned are a group zoom of the New Ways Ministry Pride celebration in June.  We have been active with service over the past year (writing cards to LGBT people who are incarcerated, making birthday cards for God's Love We Deliver, and serving the homeless population at the Kitchen of Hope, a soup kitchen at St. Dominic's in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn - many of us were seen in the background of NET TV's Breaking Bread at St. Dominic's with Msgr. Jaimie and Msgr. Cassata who cooked for the guests of the Kitchen of Hope that night in March), and we had a discussion around Fr. James Martin's Book Building Bridges.  We had planned to view Ft. Jeannine Gramick's documentary, "In Good Conscience" in March, but were unable to due to the quarantine.  We hope to have an event to view this movie as soon as we are able to gather again.
  • St. Augustine (NYC)
    • We have been having a virtual HOPE Dinner on the third Sunday of each month for the past two months from 3:00 to 5:00 pm via the communication app ZOOM.  Our 27th anniversary dinner was this past Sunday.  Guests were sent handmade greeting card invitations decorated by a volunteer's daughter and her young friends which made our virtual anniversary dinner special.  The cards included instructions for accessing the ZOOM link, some emergency phone links for guests, and also sad news of one of our long-time and very distinguished guest's passing.   The virtual dinner may only provides spiritual nourishment to the participants, but it has been of great benefit to volunteers and guests alike.

Please join Out at St. Paul’s in NYC  (OSP) for our annual PRIDE MASS!
The last few years, we held the Mass in front of the Stonewall Inn.
The Coronavirus forces us indoors at St. Paul’s.  All are welcome to join this celebration via live-streaming.
The Pride Mass will be live-streamed at 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 25th on the Church’s Facebook page, found at:
Church of Saint Paul the Apostle, NYC
Please pass the word to anyone who would like to “attend”.
